Home Weddings

Response: I have performed numerous home weddings and find that often practical issues of space and number of guests dictate how the entry is made. Sometimes the couple and attendants simply take their place in front of the fireplace or window. On other occasions, the bride may come down the stairs and be met by her father or another family member. Again, the bride may come into the room unattended and be met by the groom. In my opinion what you and your fiancÚ agree upon would be acceptable. The beauty of a home wedding is not the entrance but the intimacy created by the closeness of the guests. (Roger Coleman)
